Where to sleep in Prague

Prague’s historic core is walkable for many visitors, but the castle side, the old centre and New Town offer different starts and returns. The city source delegates named stays to district articles and notes seasonal pressure; it does not give a current comparable hotel rate.

Source-adapted starter guide, not independently verified hotel listings. The properties below were named in dated Wikivoyage revisions. We have not checked whether they still operate, their current prices, guest scores or accessibility. Confirm identity, room type, final total and terms directly before paying.

Which part of Prague fits your trip?

Compare Old Town if early walking access to central sights matters, New Town for a different centre-side base, and the castle district for that side of the river. Cobbled routes and the final approach to a property deserve a check before making a mobility-dependent booking.

Old Town and Josefov

A central base for the old square and riverside city walks.

Before choosing: Confirm the named room and exact entrance; a central listing does not establish present quiet or accessibility.

District source and revision

New Town and Vyšehrad

A district source with alternatives beyond the busiest old-square streets.

Before choosing: Compare the specific street with your itinerary rather than reading “New Town” as a single small neighbourhood.

District source and revision

Castle and Lesser Town

A castle-side choice rather than a default old-town hotel.

Before choosing: Map the crossing and last leg back, especially if cobbles or a climb matter.

Three named places to investigate

These are source-listed leads, not hotels we have contacted, paid placements, current room offers or a score-based ranking. No price, guest rating or availability is asserted. Compare the different areas and ask the property about the exact room and date you need.

Old Town and Josefov

Residence Bene

The district guide lists a small hotel on Dlouhá as an Old Town accommodation lead.

Verify before booking: Check current operation and room layout; historic source quality descriptions are not recent guest ratings.

The district source lists it on Ostrovní on the Old Town–New Town edge.

Verify before booking: Confirm the precise room, present inclusions and walk to your first destination.

EA Hotel Jeleni dvur

The castle-side guide lists this hotel on Jelení as an alternative to the old centre.

Arrival and getting around

The city source describes Václav Havel Airport and public transport, including tram and metro links to historic districts. Buses do not run into every historic street; check the transfer and final walk for your luggage and your arrival hour.

Routes and hours may change. Check your actual stop, final walk and service with the operator; a source revision date does not verify a present timetable.
