Where to sleep in Paris

A Paris hotel decision starts with the part of the city you actually need, not a claim that all central addresses are alike. The city source points readers to arrondissement pages for individual listings. We compare a Louvre-side base, the Latin Quarter and a station-oriented 10th-arrondissement lead without treating old descriptions as present-day reviews.

Source-adapted starter guide, not independently verified hotel listings. The properties below were named in dated Wikivoyage revisions. We have not checked whether they still operate, their current prices, guest scores or accessibility. Confirm identity, room type, final total and terms directly before paying.

Which part of Paris fits your trip?

Choose the 1st if proximity to the Louvre outweighs likely central-location costs. Compare the 5th if the Sorbonne and Latin Quarter are your anchors, or the 10th if a Gare du Nord journey drives your itinerary. A nearby Métro name must be checked against the actual Paris property, never copied from another city’s listing.

1st arrondissement

Louvre-side addresses and a very central base; the district source says budget choices are more limited here.

Before choosing: Check the address against your planned sights rather than assuming a central postcode means a short walk everywhere.

5th arrondissement

Latin Quarter streets and a Sorbonne-side alternative to the Louvre area.

Before choosing: Confirm room size and exact entrance; some older district descriptions emphasise very small rooms.

10th arrondissement

A practical comparison for travellers whose rail plans involve Gare du Nord.

Before choosing: Check the actual platform-to-property route and room-facing noise, not merely a claimed station proximity.

Three named places to investigate

These are source-listed leads, not hotels we have contacted, paid placements, current room offers or a score-based ranking. No price, guest rating or availability is asserted. Compare the different areas and ask the property about the exact room and date you need.

1st arrondissement

Hôtel Montpensier

The 1st-arrondissement source lists it on rue de Richelieu as a centre-oriented hotel lead.

Verify before booking: Confirm present operation, room facilities and final amount; the source’s value judgment is not a checked guest score.

5th arrondissement

Hotel Cujas Pantheon

The district guide places this named hotel on rue Cujas near the Sorbonne.

Verify before booking: Check its exact current room and street exposure; do not infer accessibility or a quiet night from its district.

10th arrondissement

Hotel Paradis

The district source lists it on rue des Petites Ecuries as a 10th-arrondissement option.

Verify before booking: Check your route to Gare du Nord and present cancellation terms; proximity in a source description is not a live transport promise.

Arrival and getting around

Paris has Métro, RER, buses and trams; its source describes RER B as an airport connection from Charles de Gaulle. Check the route from the airport or station you will actually use and the last service for your date before paying for a location.

Routes and hours may change. Check your actual stop, final walk and service with the operator; a source revision date does not verify a present timetable.

How this guide uses sources

This is original English decision advice based on reading the city and district Wikivoyage articles listed below. We excluded doubtful details and old prices rather than making them look current. The article text adaptation is shared under CC BY-SA 4.0; view the linked page history for contributor attribution.
