Where to sleep in Split

Split’s palace streets and harbour arrivals can pull a stay in different directions. The source offers a hostel between the old town and stations, a small stone-house hostel within the walls, and scattered Old Town units. These are source leads, not newly inspected rooms.

Source-adapted starter guide, not independently verified hotel listings. The properties below were named in dated Wikivoyage revisions. We have not checked whether they still operate, their current prices, guest scores or accessibility. Confirm identity, room type, final total and terms directly before paying.

Which part of Split fits your trip?

Choose the station-to-old-town corridor for a ferry or bus-led stop, or inside the walls if historic streets matter more. For scattered units, demand the exact address before paying. A promise of sociability would be misleading when the source itself says one operator lacks a communal space.

Harbour–old-town corridor

Kralja Zvonimira has a hostel described between the old town and transport stations.

Before choosing: Check the walk from your particular ferry berth or bus arrival.

Inside the old walls

Petra Kružića and scattered Old Town units give different historic-core accommodation formats.

Before choosing: Ask for the exact building, stairs and street-facing noise.

Three named places to investigate

These are source-listed leads, not hotels we have contacted, paid placements, current room offers or a score-based ranking. No price, guest rating or availability is asserted. Compare the different areas and ask the property about the exact room and date you need.

Hostel Split Backpackers 2

The source lists a lively hostel on Kralja Zvonimira between the old town and stations.

Verify before booking: Verify branch identity and current dorm basis; the number in the name is not a room count.

Al's Place

The source also calls this Hostelsplit and describes a small stone-house hostel within the walls.

Verify before booking: Confirm current seasonal opening and room occupancy; the source says Easter to October.

CroParadise Green Hostel

The listing describes several scattered Old Town units rather than one communal hostel building.

Verify before booking: Obtain the precise unit address and ask about shared spaces; old noise concerns should be checked for that room.

Arrival and getting around

The source places harbour bus and rail arrivals together but identifies Sukoišan separately for local buses. Airport transfer and city bus are not necessarily the same arrival. Check your ferry terminal, final walk and the room’s check-in arrangements.

Routes and hours may change. Check your actual stop, final walk and service with the operator; a source revision date does not verify a present timetable.

How this guide uses sources

This is original English decision advice based on reading the city and district Wikivoyage articles listed below. Descriptions and property names are adapted from those dated community-maintained pages; they are not independently checked current recommendations. Source articles can contain mistakes. We excluded doubtful details and old prices rather than making them look current. The article text adaptation is shared under CC BY-SA 4.0; view the linked page history for contributor attribution. There are no Wikivoyage images on this page.

Each of the three researched city guides may have one model-reviewed edition. This is not a translated website; shared navigation and legal information remain English. An edition is withdrawn whenever its English source binding is stale.
